At 10 a.m. today Kane Chigwidden and Brendon Lang sat the exam for class 3 Billiards. It was held at the Bentleigh Club using the facilities there so kindly made available to us by the management. Paul Cosgriff and myself were the examiners and conducted the exam in accordance with the template approved by the ABSR.
Both were confident and competent enough in their answers to allow us to approve the accreditation of Class 3 Billiards for both of them. Brendon, of course, has been on the referees list for quite a few years now as Class 3 Snooker and is now able to dispense with the notation of 'Snooker' on his certificate to be a fully fledged Class 3.
Kane also gave a very good impression and he certainly knows the rules. It will be interesting to see how he progresses once he starts his refereeing career of which I have high hopes.
The upcoming State Billiards Titles will give them both a good opportunity to practice their new found skills. That event will be held at the Reventon Academy on the 7th, 8th and 9th of October with the final at Kooyong on the 10th.
